Aloha!
Not much happening this week. We spent a lot of time at the Polynesian Cultural Center! But the highlight of the week...
We've been teaching this really less active guy for about 2 transfers. For about a month and a half he's been coming to church, and leaving after sacrament. He was baptized when he was 8, but never really went to church after that. So one day we saw him mowing his yard, and decided to find out who he was. Well long story short, when we didn't show up to that ward yesterday because no one could cover our visitors' center shift, he came to the VC to find us, and to find out why we weren't at church. It was kinda funny, and really made me appreciate the steps he's been making in his life to come back to church. Goes to show that even at 60 you're not too old to change your life!
Oh... and another funny story. When we finished bowling last week we got back to the apartment to find that the washing machine (that was started when we left 3 hours before that) was still filling up... and it had flooded the kitchen, and the living room. About 2 inches deep in the kitchen, and the carpet was just soaked. So much for a relax full p-day! But we had the BYU housing people come fix it, and they did what they could.
But a few days later the house smelled so bad that we just didn't want to go home. So we called to have them rip up the carpet and bring the big fans to dry out the carpet from underneath! Two days later it was perfectly dry and didn't smell anymore! Thank goodness for Fabrize! Apparently nothing was wrong with the washing machine, it just didn't stop filling up with water.
So that's my story for the week! Jason, I hope your surgery went well! I'm praying for you!
Ofa atu!
